Eric Pulaski, Founder and CEO
Eric founded SmartVault Corporation in November of 2007, and currently serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. As founder, Eric has made it his mission to deliver a simple, low-cost document management solution that uses cloud-based technology (low cost) but is centered around integration with applications customers already use, such as QuickBooks® (simple). He contributed heavily to the initial formation and conception of SmartVault, and continues to play a vital role in the overall product design, roadmap, and go-to-market strategy.
Prior to SmartVault, Eric founded and served as CEO and Chairman of BindView Corporation, a leading supplier of security management software solutions. Under his management, the company successfully evolved from a privately funded software development group through a successful IPO, and the ultimate sale of the company to Symantec Corporation in 2006.
Eric is also an active member of the executive boards for the Holocaust Museum Houston, Teach for America, and the Houston Technology Center. He provides philanthropic support to arts, health care, and educational organizations.
Michael Webb, Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Michael is responsible for the design and delivery of SmartVault’s Software-as-a-Service (Saas) platform, managing the R&D group at SmartVault, and ensuring the overall security of SmartVault’s platform. In addition, Michael is a founding member of SmartVault.
With more than 12 years of experience in the commercial software industry, Michael has served in a variety of technical and leadership roles. Prior to SmartVault, Michael was a Product Architect at Symantec Corporation. In that position, Michael was responsible for technical leadership and oversight of Symantec’s Compliance and Security Suite. Michael provided oversight in areas such as design, performance, reliability, and security. Prior to that, Michael served in a variety of technical and leadership roles at BindView Corporation. During his tenure there, Michael helped guide BindView’s software architecture through several major technology changes.
Dania Buchanan, Chief Marketing Officer
As vice president of marketing and business development, Dania is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s worldwide marketing strategy. In addition, Dania leads the company’s business development efforts, including the management of strategic partners and affiliates.
Dania has more than 20 years of marketing experience in the technology sector and holding executive/management positions in both small, venture-backed start-ups, and large, public companies. Prior to SmartVault, Dania was President and CEO for ChatYat, Inc., providing instant messaging applications to mobile consumers. Previously, Dania was Vice President of Corporate Marketing for NetIQ, a leading provider of systems and security management solutions, where she helped guide the company through several successful mergers and acquisitions. Dania has served in senior management roles with Blue Sky Marketing, iDOT Computers, and CompuAdd Computer Corporation.
Rick Pharr, Chief Operating Officer
As COO, Rick’s primary objective is to ensure the overall success of customers during all phases of their engagement with SmartVault. He oversees customer-facing business operations, including sales, training, and support for SmartVault. With a laser focus on customer success and satisfaction, Rick is a 15 year veteran of the software and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology industry, and has held leadership positions in both small start-ups and large public companies.
Prior to joining SmartVault, Rick was the Vice President of Customer Enablement and Information Technology for Seismic Micro-Technology (SMT), a market leader in seismic interpretation software. Prior to SMT, Rick oversaw the Enterprise Security Management and Control Compliance Suite support functions for Symantec and led various R&D functions, facilities, global support, and I.T. groups for BindView Corporation. He also led the successful creation of a multi-level support offering, 24×7 support operation, and self-service client portal web site.

Darren is the Executive Editor of The CPA Technology Advisor, and remains in public practice as the principal of Root & Associates, LLC, in Bloomington, Indiana, and president of his consulting practice, RootWorks. He has been named one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting by Accounting Today magazine.
Stephen King – President and CEO, GrowthForce
Steve is the President and CEO of GrowthForce, the largest outsourced bookkeeping and controller service bureau in Houston, Texas. An innovator in the accounting industry, Steve has enabled small businesses to access systems, expertise and services typically available only to Fortune 500 companies. His experience with QuickBooks system design, best practices and management services spans nearly three decades. As an entrepreneur himself, Steve has a passion for helping small service businesses reach their growth potential.
