SmartVault CEO, Eric Pulaski, to Keynote Cloud Summit & User Conference

Pulaski continues to educate accountants on security of data and privacy when working in the Cloud

HOUSTON, TX – September 1, 2011 – SmartVault, a leading provider of Software as a Service (SaaS) document management solutions, today announced that Eric Pulaski will be a featured keynote at the 2011 Cloud Summit & User Conference. Hosted by Cloud9 Real Time, the conference provides accounting professionals the venue to stay informed and current on cloud computing. With more than 20 years of network security experience, Pulaski’s keynote address will focus on privacy, security, and compliance when working in the Cloud. He will also lead a session titled “The Impact of Mobile Devices on Data Security.”

“I’m looking forward to offering one of the featured keynote speeches at this year’s Cloud Summit and answering all the security and compliance questions that come with any discussion about the Cloud,” stated SmartVault founder and CEO, Eric Pulaski. “Cloud technologies are prolific and can be overwhelming to accounting professionals. That’s why I’m dedicated to educating the profession and making accountants more comfortable with the technology.”

Pulaski will share such information as why storing and sharing documents and data in the Cloud is more secure than traditional methods such as email. He will also provide insight into the efficiencies that online collaboration offers firms, as well as best practices for securely sharing files between firm and client.

“As more firms adopt cloud services, especially portals, that means more data is being pushed online,” Pulaski stated. “Recent updates to IRC laws and stricter requirements around sharing sensitive data require firms to stay in front of compliance. The best way to do that is to adopt Cloud solutions that meet rigid security mandates, taking the pressure off the accountant. And education around the security of data in the cloud is paramount to adopting the technologies that are commercially available today.”

SmartVault is dedicated to ongoing education for the profession. In addition to Pulaski’s keynote, the company also recently launched its “Partnering for a More Secure Cloud” webinar series—offering topics on mobile devices and their impact on data security, password hygiene, and data encryption. The webinars are all recorded and the archives are available free on the SmartVault web site.
