The Role

We are looking for a motivated DevOps Engineer to join the a close knit agile cross-functional product team involving Product Management, QA and Development.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions for the SmartVault business and product.

You will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, solid communication skills, a desire to tackle the complex problems and a genuine passion for technology. Whilst you may come from an infrastructure background with operational excellence, you should be comfortable with writing scripts and basic software code to enhance and streamline your daily activities.

Above all you will demonstrate real passion for technology, delivery and best practice.

Technologies we use today: haproxy, IIS, apache, rabbitmq, couchbase, elasticsearch, logstash, stunnel, webdav, gluster, puppet. fluentd/td-agent, Percona MySQL, pfSense, nagios, keepalived

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Senior technical infrastructure skills in a complex environment across servers, storage and networks
  • Experience with automation tooling and configuration management
  • Linux based operating systems
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting MySQL
  • Strong AWS experience (or equivalent)
  • Sound experience with programming and scripting in a server and/or web environment
  • Experience with infrastructure or application automation
  • Experience with maintaining and supporting large scale customer facing environments
  • Good understanding of key web environments and protocols
  • Good networking experiencing with at least basic understanding of IP, network traffic flow, network ports and protocols (e.g. http, https,
  • smtp, ftp)
  • Strong experience with Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, etc.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Good knowledge of security as it relates to cloud based infrastructure
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with third party service providers and vendors
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Passion for technology and innovation
  • Experience with High availability redundant systems

Helpful Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary degree in computer science or related areas
