In October 2008, Intuit awarded Gold Developer status to SmartVault, the highest certification level that can be reached by applications integrating with QuickBooks.

To achieve Gold Developer certification, SmartVault underwent rigorous testing by an independent testing company chosen by Intuit to execute the QuickBooks technical review. The extensive testing on the product ensured that SmartVault’s solution meets a set of Intuit compliance standards, proving the product is of high quality and that it uniquely integrates with QuickBooks.

Along with passing the technical review, every gold developer is required to submit a case study and receive a passing score on an independent survey given to existing customers. The Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship

In December 2009, the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship announced the most promising I.T. and Web 2.0 companies at the 7th annual I.T. and Web 2.0 Venture Forum in Houston. Information Technology and Web 2.0 companies showcased their new ventures at the largest venture capital conference in the Southwest with more than 400 attendees, including investors, venture capitalists, industry representatives, business leaders, service providers, and entrepreneurs.
