The SmartVault drive is a feature that allows the user to easily map a drive to their account and view their folders and documents in SmartVault via the MS Windows Explorer. The SmartVault drive is a virtual drive to your SmartVault account that you can map directly to your local computer.
Map a SmartVault Drive on Windows 7 or Windows 8
With a mapped drive, you can work with your cloud-stored documents from Windows Explorer – a files and folders tool you probably use every day. To map a drive for the Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating systems, open the SmartVault Launchpad on your desktop.

Map a SmartVault Drive on a Mac Computer
One way to use SmartVault with a Mac is to map a drive using Finder. With a mapped drive, you can drag and drop, or cut/copy and paste files and folders. It’s a great way to migrate existing data to your SmartVault.
Understanding Virtual folders
“Virtual Folders” appear when a user has access to a folder, but does not have read permissions to the parent folder. Without read permissions to the parent folder, the user is unable to browse to the shared sub-folder in the hierarchy.
