What's New in SmartVault

As a leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, SmartVault customers benefit from frequent updates to the service, which provide new features and enhanced functionality every few months. Traditional, on-premise software applications just can't match this level of service.

January 2012 Service Update

On January 25, 2012, SmartVault introduced new pricing for 2012. SmartVault also added new features to some plans. For example, custom branding is now included all 2012 plans. (Previously custom branding was only available in SmartVault Professional plans.) For additional information about pricing and features for SmartVault 2012 plans, see Pricing.

The SmartVault service was also updated to address some issues identified by customers as part of the regular maintenance cycle for the SmartVault service. For more information about these updates, check out the Release Notes.

November 2011 Service Update

On November 17, SmartVault released its year-end service update, with features designed to improve usability and workflow - making it easier and more intuitive to share files with one contact or thousands of clients. SmartVault is also offering customers a Quick Start Services Package designed to provide turn-key set up services which will accelerate adoption for accounting firms and their clients. New features and enhancements include:

• Email Notifications: Users can set up the system to automatically receive email notifications when documents are uploaded or downloaded, as well as specify how frequently they want to receive notifications. Learn more about Email Notifications >>
  *Note: Email notifications are available ONLY in the SmartVault Team and Professional plans.
• Full Text Search: Users can search for files uploaded to their account using keywords contained within the body of a searchable Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF document. Learn more about Full Text Search >>
  *Note: Full text search is available ONLY in SmartVault Professional plans.
• Improvements to Sharing: Sharing files is easier and more intuitive in the SmartVault portal. Users see at-a-glance who has access to each folder, and can easily configure sharing and notifications on new folders.
• Quick Start Service Package: Users can take advantage of services that will accelerate the adoption of SmartVault in their firm such as bulk user upload and folder creation, custom branding, custom training for firm and clients, and one-time data migration. October 2011 Service Update

On October 21, 2011, SmartVault released the SmartVault Web Software Development Kit (SDK). The SmartVault service was also updated to address some issues as identified by customers as part of the regular maintenance of the SmartVault service.
