SmartVault Launches New Release – Version 3.3
New security and compliance features and enhancements further elevate ease-of-use
Houston, TX – January 31, 2011 – SmartVault, a leading provider of Software as a Service (SaaS) document storage and sharing solutions, today announced the latest release of SmartVault—version 3.3. The new release focuses on additional security and compliance features and streamlining the user interface to enhance SmartVault’s foundation for providing an easy-to-use solution for storing and sharing documents in the Cloud. Enhancements are a direct result of customer feedback and suggestions.
SmartVault has built a reputation around its uniquely integrated plug-in for QuickBooks, which offers customers a seamless experience for scanning, uploading, and finding documents within a familiar application. In 2009, SmartVault expanded its service offering beyond the QuickBooks user to provide file storage and file sharing capabilities for all business documents—providing a single solution to securely store, view, and exchange files. SmartVault v3.3 represents an upgrade in the service’s proven functionality, while new security and compliance features further streamline the user experience.

New and enhanced features in SmartVault v3.3 include:
- User Activity Logs—Offers customers the ability to audit the access of documents stored in SmartVault. Activity logs enable users to generate on-demand security and compliance reports, which provide an audit trail that shows what documents users uploaded, downloaded, or deleted, as well as what documents were changed and when. Users can filter data based on multiple criteria and export user activity logs to Excel or CSV files. NOTE: The User Activity Log feature will be available to SmartVault Professional Plan users only.
- Copy Link Feature—Allows users to easily create a link to any file or folder in SmartVault and add it to their desktop, embed in a file, or paste into an outgoing email. This offers users the option to use their own email system to send a link to a file in SmartVault, rather than through the “Send Link” option in the SmartVault Portal.
- Create a Vault from a SmartVault Mapped Drive—Enables users to create vaults (in addition to folders) directly from their SmartVault Drive. Previously, users could only create vaults from the SmartVault Portal.
This release also includes more than a dozen enhancements to existing SmartVault features, such as making it easier to personalize email messages when sharing documents and folders with existing users and the ability to intuitively create Desktop shortcuts for easy access to core service components.
