SmartVault is committed to the 1-1-1 Pledge – to donate 1% of our equity, 1% of annual revenue, and 1% of employees’ time, to philanthropy. As part of this effort to give back to our community, and encourage our employees to share in the spirit of philanthropy, every SmartVault employee is entitled to up to 3 days of paid time off for volunteering at the nonprofit organization of their choice. Our goal is to foster a culture of caring, and to inspire our employees to take an active role in giving back to the communities we live and work in.
Employees have the option of volunteering individually with any nonprofit organization, or they can participate in ongoing SmartVault-sponsored group projects at the Houston Food Bank or Habitat for Humanity. Each month, we provide team volunteer days at the food bank, where activities range from prepping and cooking meals for underprivileged youth at the Keegan Kitchen, to sorting, packing, and stocking food at the Portwall Warehouse. We also participate in several group build projects with Habitat for Humanity throughout the year.
Team volunteer opportunities are available on the first Wednesday of each month at Keegan Kitchen, and the third Wednesday of each month at the Portwall Warehouse. All shifts are from 1pm to 4pm Central.
